Amelia Nell is the owner and principal singing teacher at Vocalocity. She holds a Bachelor of Music from the Australian Institute of Music, Sydney, and a Certificate IV in Popular Music & Performance from JMC Academy, Sydney.

In addition to teaching private and group singing lessons, Amelia also has a great passion for choral directing, writing and arranging. Choirs and small vocal ensemble groups under her direction have achieved numerous successes in Eisteddfods and other competition settings including an exciting first place win for Vocalocity at the Australian National Eisteddfod in Canberra in 2017.

Amelia is committed to regularly updating her ongoing professional development in multiple areas concerning music education, voice science and vocal pedagogy, thereby enabling her to impart her knowledge of the latest industry standards and techniques to her students. She is involved with the Australian National Association of Teachers of Singing (ANATS) as a member of their NSW Committee as well as being their regional representative for the Blue Mountains.

She has been a vocal tutor for the Australian Girls Choir, the choir director and principal singing teacher at Katoomba High School from 2013 - 2016 where she established the eisteddfod-winning Vocal Program, and is currently the high school choir director at Blue Mountains Grammar School. 

Amelia's holistic approach to singing teaching and choir directing ensures that her students learn in a positive, supportive, understanding and nurturing environment. She fosters the individuality of each singer, strives to instil a sense of confidence and wellbeing and encourages them to express themselves through creativity.
